Our latest log cabin review will look at the spectacular Bertsch Rome from Simply Log Cabins. The Bertsch Rome is a truly high spec model and a substantial building in it’s own right. Measuring 5.0m wide x 5.0m deep this cabin gives a whopping 25 square metres of floor space – enough to make it suitable for a whole range of purposes or for multi-zonal use. This can easily incorporate an artist’s studio, gym, a good sized office for a couple of people, a guest room for visitors or as a place to entertain. It’s not just the size that impresses either: the plethora of light that enters through the three charming wall to ceiling French windows and large glass door, together with the high ceiling makes the spacious inside incredibly airy and bright.
As you would expect from a Bertsch, the build is exceptionally robust and easily allows for full all year use. The walls are a sturdy 94mm in thickness and the glass is double glazed. In winter, this would be a warm and cosy getaway from the main house for any homeowner. The substantial floor supports are pressure treated and the floor itself is suitable for fairly heavy use. The doors come with weather strips, a cylindrical lock and handles already fitted and with adjustable door hinges.
The impressive square, peaked roof with a 30cm overhang is sturdily built to keep the building protected from the elements and ensure that your investment keeps at its best for many years. There is an option to upgrade to Bertsch bitumen felt roof shingles which come in several colours (the red ones are seen in the picture) and for both aesthetic and practical purposes we would recommend this. The bitumen will last longer and the tiles give are literally the icing on the cake when it comes to finishing off the look of the building.
